Bulk DNS lookup

Check the DNS records of up to 20 domains at once: A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, CAA and SOA, plus the DMARC policy. Queries go from your browser straight to Cloudflare or Google over DNS over HTTPS.

records
Your list goes straight from this page to the resolver. We do not see it.

// what the records mean

What each record type tells you

RecordWhat it holds
A, AAAAThe IPv4 and IPv6 addresses the name points to, so a browser knows which server to contact.
CNAMEAn alias: the name is another name in disguise, for example www pointing to a CDN host. A CNAME cannot sit on the bare domain, so example.com usually has none.
MXThe mail servers for the domain, lowest priority number first. No MX usually means the domain does not receive e-mail.
NSThe nameservers that hold the domain's records. They show which DNS provider the domain uses.
TXTFree text: the SPF record (v=spf1) listing who may send mail for the domain, and verification codes for Google, Microsoft, Atlassian and others.
CAAWhich certificate authorities may issue TLS certificates for the domain. No CAA record means any authority may.
SOAThe zone's primary nameserver, the administrator mailbox, the serial number and the refresh timers.
DMARCA TXT record at _dmarc.example.com that tells receivers what to do with mail failing SPF and DKIM: p=none, quarantine or reject.

The lookup asks a public resolver over DNS over HTTPS, the same answers dig or nslookup would give from that resolver. Answers are cached for the TTL shown, in seconds, so a record you changed a minute ago may still show its old value until the TTL runs out.

www.example.com and example.com are separate names with separate records. Enter both if you need both.

// questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the DNS records of many domains at once?

Paste up to 20 domains above, one per line, choose the record types and press Look up records. Every domain gets its own table and Download CSV saves all of them in one file. For hundreds or thousands of domains, use DNS Records Lookup on Apify, which returns one row per hostname.

What does NXDOMAIN mean?

The resolver says the name does not exist in DNS. Either the domain is not registered, its registration has lapsed, or the subdomain was never created.

Why do I still see an old record after changing it?

Resolvers keep each answer for its TTL. Until that time runs out they may return the old value. Try the other resolver: Cloudflare and Google cache independently, so one of them may already have the new record.

Is the list of domains sent to deriverge?

No. This page has no server behind it. Your browser sends each question directly to Cloudflare (cloudflare-dns.com) or Google (dns.google) over HTTPS.

How do I find the mail provider of a domain?

Look at the MX records: aspmx.l.google.com means Google Workspace, *.mail.protection.outlook.com means Microsoft 365. DNS Records Lookup on Apify names the provider for you in a mailProvider field, next to the SPF record and the DMARC policy.

Can I check DNS records on a schedule?

Yes, with the Apify actor. Run it daily or hourly on the same list and keep only the domains whose records changed, then send them to a spreadsheet, a webhook or Slack.
